A very well- made khanjar from the Kurdistan area of Northern Iraq. The double- edged curved blade presents a well pronounced medial ridge for the entirely of the blade to the point. There is a subtle watered patterning with the blade. The I- shaped hilt is carved from a very dark, almost black buffalo horn that is finely polished and is decorated with two brass dome rivets on each end. Embossed leather sheath with a red cloth lining at the mouth. While this dagger is not entirely old, it is very well made. The blade is well forged with very sharp edges and clear yet subtle patterning to the blade surface. Large horn hilt.
