A fine short sword of the West African Mande speaking people. The steel blade is straight, double-edged with a slightly raised medial ridge. Hilt made of wood with stacked segments of horn, brass collar, brass circle inlays, and a brass pommel. Missing its sheath. A quality sword with appealing decoration.
