A fine Burmese knife known as a dha hmyaung, of Shan craftsmanship. Straight single- edged plain steel blade, slightly down curving near the point. The cylindrical hilt is carved from elephant ivory, attached to a silver mounted collar decorated in bands of silver filigree. The silver fitted sheath with silver filigree work, wrapped in a green cotton baldric cord. The baldric is likely a later replacement.
