This is a fine example of a larger sized knife from the Boa or Azande between the Central African Republic and the Congo. The steel blade is straight, double- edged, tapering to a point with an offset fuller on one side of the blade. The fuller is reversed on the back. Hilt carved from elephant ivory decorated in black circle- dot motifs with a disc shaped pommel. Sheath of black leather with copper wire bound throat and chape. A knife of great quality in a rare form not often encountered.
