Spear associated with the Azande or Mangbetu People of the Congo. The steel arrow shaped head is flared toward the base and tapers to a sharp point. There is a rectangular cutout near the base with a raised center and a medial ridge. Edged notchings in the center to the base of the blade and extending to the socket. Wooden shaft with strips of copper and iron bindings. From an old Belgian collection. Ca. 1900.
