A very good spear from the Zulu Kingdom, probably Nguni, or Ndebele peoples. The double- edged iron blade is long and slender (Ntlekwane type) with a strong medial ridge, tapering to a point. One side of the medial ridge is flat, while the other side is concave. It is reversed on the opposite side. Iron socket. Long wooden shaft with cow hide binding to hold the socket in place. A light and nicely balanced older spear, complete. Likely from the 1870s Anglo- Zulu War era.
